Legal Disclaimer & Terms
(Read Before Using Our Tool)

To keep FillPDFNow free and fast, we need to set some ground rules. This page explains what we are responsible for, and more importantly, what we are not responsible for.

Effective Date: January 2026

The “As Is” Clause (No Warranties)

This website and its tools are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we work hard to ensure our editor works perfectly on iPhones, Androids, and computers, we cannot guarantee that:

  • The website will be uninterrupted or error-free.
  • The website will meet your specific requirements.
  • The results obtained from using the tool will be accurate or reliable.

In Plain English: If you use our site to fill out a million-dollar contract and the server crashes, or a typo occurs due to a software glitch, we are not liable for any financial losses or damages. Please verify your documents before sending them.

Data Loss & File Deletion

We prioritize your privacy by deleting files automatically. This is a feature, not a bug. However, this means we are not a file storage service.

Your Responsibility:
You must download your edited PDF immediately after you finish. Once our automatic cleanup script runs, your file is gone forever. We cannot recover deleted files.

Electronic Signatures

Our tool allows you to draw or type a signature on a PDF. While electronic signatures are generally legal in many jurisdictions (like the US and EU), specific laws vary by region and document type.

It is your responsibility to ensure that a simple electronic signature is valid for your specific use case (e.g., wills, real estate transfers, or court documents often require “wet ink” signatures).

Acceptable Use Policy

By using FillPDFNow, you agree NOT to upload:

  • Viruses, malware, or harmful code.
  • Documents that you do not have the right to edit (copyrighted material).
  • Illegal content or materials that promote illegal acts.

We reserve the right to block access to anyone violating these terms.

Common Questions About Liability

If I lose my file, can you restore it?

No. To protect user privacy, our deletion process is permanent. We do not keep backups of user documents. Please save your work to your computer immediately.

Is the tool compliant for medical records (HIPAA)?

While our tool is secure, we have not undergone specific HIPAA compliance certification. We recommend you do not upload sensitive medical records containing patient data.

Who owns the documents I edit?

You do. We claim no ownership over the PDF files you upload or the content you add to them. We act solely as a data processor.

What if the text I typed disappears?

This can happen if you don’t “flatten” the PDF properly. Always use our “Save & Download” button, which locks the text in. See our guide on how to flatten a PDF for details.
