Three Layers of Protection
Most security breaches happen when websites store data they don’t need. Our strategy is simple: we process your file and then we destroy it.
End-to-End SSL
Every byte of data transferred between your computer and our server is encrypted using 256-bit SSL. This is the same technology banks use.
The “Digital Shredder”
We run an automated script that permanently wipes user files from our server every few hours. We cannot recover deleted files.
No Human Access
Our system is automated. No employee, developer, or third party has access to view the contents of the documents you upload.
Why “No Account” is Safer
Traditional PDF sites ask you to create an account. This creates a permanent record of your personal data on their servers, waiting to be hacked.
FillPDFNow is different. Because we don’t require an account, we don’t have a database of user passwords or personal histories to steal. You are anonymous by design.
Technical Security Specs
For the tech-savvy, here is exactly how our infrastructure works:
- Encryption in Transit: HTTPS (TLS 1.2/1.3) forces a secure connection. Your ISP cannot see what you are uploading.
- Local Processing: Key actions, like drawing a signature or adding text, often happen directly in your browser’s memory, reducing the need to send data back and forth.
- Server Isolation: Uploaded files are stored in a temporary, isolated directory that is not indexable by search engines (Google cannot “read” your PDF).
Common Security Questions
While our system is secure and uses encryption, we always recommend caution. If a document is extremely sensitive (like highly classified data), the safest option is always offline software. For standard tax forms and applications, our encryption is industry standard.
No. Backups are a security risk. Once our cleanup script runs, the file is gone forever. This ensures that even if we were subpoenaed, we would have nothing to give.
We do not touch payment data. FillPDFNow is free to use for document editing. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers.
